Call for Nursing Scholarship Applicants
CMSA excited to offer three $1000 scholarships to deserving nursing students from the Big Bend area who will commit to stay and serve this medical community upon their graduation. This money can assist with ANY costs related to their education.
Mission: Our mission is to encourage Heath Care Professionals to stay and serve the medical community in Tallahassee and the Big Bend area.
Requirements:
1. Accepted to an LPN, ADN, ASN, RN, or BSN Program at Tallahassee Community College School of Nursing, Florida State University School of Nursing, Florida A&M University School of Nursing, Keiser University School of Nursing, or Chipola College School of Nursing. Please provide acceptance letter, or other proof of acceptance.
2. Write a personal statement indicating what inspired you to become a nurse and how you plan to bring that passion to the Big Bend area after graduation.
3. Plan to accept employment in the Big Bend Counties listed: Taylor, Madison, Jefferson, Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, or Jackson County.
4. Provide an updated CV or resume.
5. Provide most recent unofficial transcript.
6. Provide one reference [academic advisor, preceptor, faculty or staff member, employer] able to speak to the applicant’s character, capabilities, and willingness to stay and serve the local Big Bend medical community. APPLICATIONS MISSING REFERENCES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Application period opens: March 1, 2025
Application deadline: March 31, 2025
Notification of recipient: April 10, 2025
Presentation of Scholarship: Thursday, April 24, 2025, 6-9 pm. Scholarship winners are expected to attend.
